I have been using the Ascensia CONTOUR Monitoring System for about a year now and have been very happy with the accuracy and ease of use. The "Ascensia Contour 50 Diabetic Test Strips" are made for the contour Meter and are a steal at this price.
I have never seen any problems with these test strips and did not have any problems with the seller or packaging (as another reviewer reported).
Highly recommended! |

| I decided to convert to these test strips because of cost. I was able to purchase this product for approximately 25% of the cost of my current test strips without a prescription. |

| I just changed meters and love the new Bayer Contour. These strips take so little blood so you do not have bruising on your finger tips. |
why pay more?

| This is exactly what the description said. Strips were current stock (expire 11/2011) and less than half what they charge at CVS. Amazon would have rated 5 starts for this order except that super saver shipping took three weeks to arrive. There's no way this should happen... |
Appropriate for the Bayer Contour product

I ordered the Bayer Contour test strips for the Ascencia model (as pictured). The seller sent me the test strips for the Contour TS. While the shipping was quick, they sent the wrong product. I have contacted the seller and am awaiting a response. Review will be updated when this issue is resolved. The seller listed in the comments that "These are the Bayer Contour test strips, box is orange and blue. Same strips, box design is different than pictured." HOWEVER, the Contour TS strips are not compatible with the Contour Ascencia (says so right on the box).

I requested a refund and prepaid return shipping for the product. Seller complied, however still insisted that the Bayer T/S strips could be used with the Bayer Contour meter. This is after I told him I had the Bayer Contour Ascencia meter (different than Bayer Contour meter and the Contour T/S) and that the product image as advertised for sale are test strips for the Bayer Contour Ascencia meter. Although he was willing to pay for return shipping and refund me, he still doesn't get that he sent the wrong product, and is now encouraging users to substitute T/S strips for the Contour meter. I am happy with the customer service, but unless the seller is a physician, I probably won't be taking his advice on substituting test strips. Maybe they are all the same, and maybe they aren't. But Bayer won't approve the use of different test strips with their meters, and while this may be a corporate ploy to make more money, I don't want to put my health at risk. Advice to other customers: make sure you know what test strips you are buying and make sure they are for your meter. Bayer Contour T/S is not the same as Bayer Contour which is still not the same as Bayer Contour Ascencia. |
Not as advertised

| The test strips arrived quickly but were not in the factory sealed box pictured. The vials were delivered lose packed in a manila envelope. There is no way to tell if the vials had been previously opened. The expiration date was in 90 days. |
EXPIRED!!!

| Thought this was a good price so I ordered a box of 100. Had some "samples" from my doctor so I used those first, then started using these. Readings were very high which concerned me. Then I looked at the bottle -- the strips were over two years old!! They expired over a year ago!! Thanks for NOTHING. I'm so upset -- even with a lower price this was a significant expense. Now I have to wait another couple of days to test while I try to find a pharmacy, get a new prescription, etc. and meanwhile, it's probably too late to get a refund. It's EXTREMELY important that these readings be accurate. UNBELIEVABLE that you would sell expired strips. |
