Excellent Product

Reviewer: S. Wesner,
Ever since we returned from a trip abroad my husband has been suffering from excruciating lower back pain . At times he had difficulty even getting out of bed. The doctor diagnosed a herniated disk. We tried many options at the suggestion of doctors and friends , including the Alexander technique , Pilates (combination exercise and stretching, it helps somewhat) . The only practical relief came from the regular chiropractor sessions my husband had , where he was treated with a professional tens unit. It wasn't long before we were looking for a home use tens unit. This little unit was literally a life saver , it works as good as at the chiropractors office. My husband has finnaly gotten his life back again. Because of the unobtrusive design he can use the unit anywhere . Would highly recommend to anyone suffering from back pain.
Amazing Product

Reviewer: Michael Henderson,
I can only say a I wish I had known about this product earlier. I've been struggling with lower back pain since 2005 . This is the only therapy that worked for me to relieve pain, allowing me to use less narcotics. The meds are causing all sorts of liver problems. I'm so glad that I can actually get through an eight hour work day without being in agony. I don't use the clip provided, rather I keep it in a special pouch so that no one would know the better. This is an excellent unit small and powerful , definitely worth the price. My only gripe is, why doctors don't recommend this therapy more to all patients with chronic back. pain.
Great Product !!

Reviewer: Joseph Ricci,
Great product . I use the muscle stimulator and tens unit to relieve pain in my shoulder and lower back . It works great. I am in much less pain than I would be without it. I also like the treatment timer, very convenient. The instructions were clear, and it's quite easy to use. All in all it's a high quality tens unit and worth every penny.
Great Product

I had bought a similar unit that I ended up returning because it was difficult to use and didn't seem to work but this one is quite the opposite - It is affordable, compact and easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone looking at these types of devices!
Very helpful

I purchased this unit to use on my dog. He injured his back, herniated a disc and became paralyzed in the back part of his body. I used this to prevent muscle atrophy since his legs were losing mass visibly everyday. I used the EMS function to build up muscle and the TENS function as electro acupuncture. I can tell you that within the first week I saw results, His legs were definetely getting stronger and after about 5 weeks he started to regain movement but I guess the fact that the mass was there already made it easier for him. He is close to walking again, he can get up and walk a few steps, but really only with my assistance can he get far. I really think this helped him and now I'm using it to relieve pain in my mom's back, she says it works great.
Great product

Reviewer: D. Huynh,
It is a great product for pain and blood circulation. We use these at my PT clinic and I just recently got it on Amazon for very cheap. I use it everyday for about an hour. You can set it to be very frequent which helps deal with pain or u can do it on low frequency and high intensity to promote blood flow. Many say that you can use as a workout. Don't believe them. If you want to get more lean, workout. this unit is more for pain and rehab. My parents use it as a massager too.
really helps

This little machine is amazing. Easy to operate. It provided instant pain relief. I refuse to take pain pills, and am way to active to let my strained lower back heal. This machine feels like your getting a lower back massage for hours. And it blocks the pain at the same time. Its highly adjustable. I would recommend a rechargable 9 volt batterty.

great product
Best Money I Have Ever Spent

This product is worth every penny. It was delivered as ordered and ontime. It took 6 weeks/3X per week of chiropractic appointments at $60 each to cure my last pinched nerve. I was better within 2 days and fully mobile within a week. Even paying for the overnight shipping was worth the extra cost.
PT student approved :)

Reviewer: D. Reed,
Excellent quality product! As a doctoral PT student, I was interested in a TENS unit to supplement my class learning. This unit contains the same ability as many of our thousand dollar units. It allows for all the proper adjustments (intensity/duration/frequency) for TENS stimulation to get the conventional/acupuncture/brief intense stimulation that opens the gate and opiate type receptors needed for anesthetic affect in the body. It also can operate properly for EMS to get full muscle contraction for strengthening and loosening muscle spams by allowing for fully adjustable Ramp up and ramp down time, as well as contraction and relaxation times. An added bonus is the fact that it can be adjusted to be alternating instead of synchronous, so that it can be used on an agonist AND antagonist muscle (biceps and triceps) so that it can work out one muscle AND the other at alternating intervals.

If you are looking for a unit that can do all the basic needs of a TENS and EMS unit, this has it all. It is PLENTY strong to get full muscular contraction, and a few added modes like burst and modulation to help pump the muscles and modulate settings to reduce pain if you are sensitive to the electrical stimulation.

This Really Works

Reviewer: Private,
I agree with other posters, the manual is not very explicit. But even using it with the defaults you can see results at once: in my case back pain is gone using the TENS option (with the defaults) in only a few minutes. I also have arthritis in one elbow (which bothers some, I usually have to flex it like 60 times before it goes down). Today I just put the two electrodes in the elbow, started the TENS mode and amazingly the pain was gone in a very short time, and stayed off...
No more ibuprofen for me.
And the EMS works, it takes a little tinkering with the values, but you can feel the effect (try it in your upper back: if feels almost like getting a kneading massage).
It would be nice if some other user could post a link with detailed user instructions on how to set the unit for different ailments
The person who invented TENS is a genius

Thank God for the TENS unit. I have wanted one since my chiropractor started using one on me a couple years ago, and am so glad that I finally have this one. It is small, easily portable (you can tuck the unit in a pocket or clip it to your belt), and fairly easy to program. The instruction booklet could be a little easier to figure out...or perhaps I need a "TENS MACHINES FOR DUMMIES" book instead. However, I mostly figured it out without the instructions anyway. It works great. I krank the TENS buzz up to about 80, relax, and get some much-needed pain relief from my horrible chronic back pain. This thing is a God-send and I thank the good Lord for giving someone the inspiration to invent such a unit for home use.
Very reliable little machine

I use this product to help me relieve stress and pain from bone spurs in my neck. I use it in the morning and evening for about 30 minutes and I feel so much better after use. This is a sturdy machine and is holding up very well. I would recommend to anybody with back pain to use it.
This was a great idea to get this product.

I have struggled with back pain for 20 years. I'm not talking a little pain here and there, but pain that has brought me to my knees. I ordered this based upon a friend's recommendation. I must say, it is one of the best things I have ever purchased for myself. I felt immediate relief when I placed the pads on my lower back. The best thing about this is I am a 50+ year old weightlifter who really hits the gym 5 - 6 days a week. The muscle stimulator is also an added bonus when I want to massage some muscle groups after a long workout. I am so very happy I purchased this product. I will order the larger pads in the near future.

My woman was having severe back pains for weeks. She could hardly stand to walk and drive. She tried heat, cold, and pills. Nothing helped much until she used this thing. Immediate help on the first 30 minute treatment. Three more treatments and she is feeling almost normal and walked 2 miles today. Get this thing if you have pain, it's cheaper and may be more effective than a doctor, chiro, physical therapist or witch doctor. Attention Conspiracy Theorists: The health care professionals will probably try to get this thing outlawed for home use soon. It's that good. Get'em while you can.

This is the a great little item for the price .I have neuropathy in my feet and back pain from a bad nerve and the only thing that helped was the T.E.N.S. treatment in physical therapy. this unit works just as good and is easy to use ,it is not a cure but it does give a little relief ,(no a lot of of relief). well worth the price .Do your self a favor and try it . But note TENS do not work the same on everybody. I have not used the EMS yet but I got this for the TENS, but why not have a EMS too for this price.

Reviewer: Do-It-Herself,
I bought this item so that I could get the same treatment at home that I get at my chiropractor's office to treat shoulder rotator cuff tendonitis. The instructions are a bit difficult to read through and understand for a non-clinical person. I figured it out mostly by trial and error. After a couple weeks of once-a-day use, my shoulder is feeling much better. Surprisingly, the original battery lasts quite a long time. Initially I used the TENS mode to treat the pain and inflammation and then switched to EMS to start strengthening the muscles. This is a great little unit for the price. The instructions are the reason that I don't give it all five stars.

The Prodcut itself works great.for the price.

The case that it comes in I don't like at all it is a cheap looking plastic box..

I had an Experian Product before and i loved it iwas a canvas which held extra batteries and Electrodes leads.. This doen't

Other then the Case it is a good machine and would buy another product from them.

Thank You

For this price, I really wasn't expecting alot. A little relief from painful spasms; that's it.

What a pleasant surprise this product is. It arrives packed in a neat little black suitcase with everything you need to do what they do at the physical therapy place for TENS treatment, minus the ridiculous, um, charge (couldn't resist/ok didn't try).

Really feel like I am at a clinic. But I'm home, getting needed relief on my schedule in my fluffy slippers without traveling, finding parking or discussing the weather endlessly.

Instructions are ... um, adequate; 4 super-sticky electrode pads stay where you put them, and muscles are properly stimulated ... for example, I use it on my shoulders and it is only set at 4 (on a dial that goes to 10.) That is *aplenty*!

Impressive machine ... glad I got it. As to the cons: As noted by others, the instructions might have been more detailed/less scientific, but if anything isn't clear, just read, Google, learn and tweak settings. It is certainly worth your time to determine the best numbers for your particular issue and preferences in muscle stimulation.

Bottom line: Enjoying the pain relief at home. You may too.

Cant go wrong with this unit!

Reviewer: Karen,
I picked this up for when I get muscle tears or strains from working out. This is the same quality Tens unit you would receive after surgery during your rehab. I would know I have blown my ACL out and torn muscles in my shoulder so I have had experience with these little guys. At a 100mA the most I could handle was 60 and it was still too much. This has all the options you need in a Tens unit for setting pulse time and power. I gave it 4 stars because the only thing that did annoy me was I had to overly twist the nobs to bring the power up and down.

I have used this TENS unit for about a month. I had to return the first unit I bought from Amazon as the insulation on the lead wires came undone and exposed the electric wires. It gave my "lower posterior" quite a zap! This unit, which is about half the price of the first, is working quite well and helps reduce (not alleviate) the pain in my lower back. I wear it for several hours almost every day.

well for my back pain and I would recommend it. For the money it is well worth it.

Reviewer: Shawn Jamison,
I have peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet caused by chemotherapy. My hands and feet have been in constant pain for nearly a year.
For me this unit has been a wonder!
For the hour or so that I have it hooked up to my hands and feet the pain stops.

No pain pills, no sleepiness, the pain just stops!

The pain free affect lasts anywhere from 1 to 6 hours after the treatment. I use it at night just prior to going to bed so the pressure from the covers on my feet doesn't hurt and keep me awake.

I can definitely recommend this product. It's not a cure for the pain but it can give you a few minutes of sanity preserving relief.

I would recommend the Conductive Silver socks if you are going to use this unit on your feet. It does a much better job than the patches.Conductive Socks (One Pair) Stimulate and Massage for use with most TENS and EMS and Sonic Technology's Electromassage System offered on Amazon

I would also recommend using the larger the 2 X 2 inch pads2 x 2 Inch TENS Unit Electrode Pads - 4 Packs of 4 - 16 Total

I was introduced to electrical stimulation when I went to physical therapy, and it really seemed to help. So, I started researching home models online, found this one on Amazon, and ordered it.

I can't speak to the difficulty of the instructions because my physical therapist set it up for me, so all I have to do is turn it on and set the strength.

While it isn't as effective as a professional unit that probably costs an arm and a leg, for a home unit, this does a pretty good job. Overall, I've had good results for temporary neck, back and leg pains. I've used it at least twice a week for a couple of months, and the original electrodes are still sticky.

My pre-tax healthcare account will reimburse me if I submit a letter of medical necessity from my doctor, so if you have one of these types of accounts, you might want to check with them to see if they will do the same.

Reviewer: L. Chang, Naperville, IL USA
The unit claimed to have both TENS/EMS capability. The TENS has 4 modes B/N/M/M1, B is for a rapid burst, N for a continuous output, M and M1 are two different ways of varying intensity for a wave effect. The EMS has 2 modes both are adjustable for ramp up duration (default 1 sec)/contraction duration (default 5 sec)/relax duration(default 10 sec). The 2nd mode of EMS only alternate the output between the two sets of electrodes.

I noticed the TENS/EMS both used the same frequency range, it was the amperage output that decides if the muscle will be moved. In my opinion, this unit worked just like a 6 mode TENS. It does the job of TENS OK but not much variation as an EMS.

One thing that get the unit a low rating, just like another customer, the unit came in with a scratched screen. Returned the unit without a hitch.

Cheaply made

Review Date: July 27, 2010
Reviewer: George A. Rattner,
I gave it 2.5 stars only as "benefit of the doubt" since I didn't actually go as far as trying it on myself and so many people have liked it. I deducted the other 2.5 stars because the manual is confusing and when I tried setting it up the unit felt and looked like a rough, cheaply made gadget. The left rotary knob didn't function properly compared to the right one and the push button control didn't work consistently either. This item didn't inspire me with any confidence and I sent it back without trying it further.
