Neti pot changed my life
|
| Review Date: October 2, 2009 |
| Reviewer: S. Trask, Oaktown, CA |
| As an allergy sufferer, I had heard all about neti pots, but the thought of draining water through my nostrils in the morning was not so appealing. I used my girlfriend's when I was sick and saw the light, so I sought out to buy one for myself. I got this one because it is the cheapest out there and it is plastic and I tend to drop things in the shower. I agree with the other reviewer that it's overpriced for a piece of molded plastic, and it will probably break right down the molded seam if I drop it, but it has been amazingly effective. Just a half teaspoon of sea salt in warm water each morning and I can breathe better and my sinus area is moisturized. Don't bother buying fancy neti solutions - simple course-ground sea salt is all you need. |

I saw this pot given away on Oprah to the audience. It's really a nice-feeling pot. I have a ceramic and I bought this one for traveling because it is sturdy.
Thanks for the recommendation Oprah! |

| The price on this was excellent, and at the time, the shipping was free. It's everything I expected. I would recommend to anyone who has sinus problems or allergies to try this. |

| Love it, works great, and seems pretty hard for the kids to ruin, unlike the ceramic one (which I loved) which broke. I'm glad this one works just as well. |

| Watched Dr. Oz on Oprah tout the benefits of the Neti pot on TV. Saw them elsewhere for significantly higher prices so I was happy when I found it on Amazon for dirt cheap. |
love it

| I've never had a neti pot before but I know how they're supposed to work and this is great and easy to use. |

| I was a little disappointed when I opened the packaging. The pot is made of a very light plastic-like material and it feels incredibly cheap. There's no weight to it at all. After closer inspection it appears to be pretty tough stuff so I got over it quick. The product itself works as advertised. I purchased the salt and it's excellent quality; dissolves very quickly. I've used it several times now and I can say that the process does work. It's gross and uncomfortable, but it works. |
Exactly what I expected

| This is a plastic Neti pot. I ordered it because (1) I wanted something non-breakable, and (2) I also wanted something that I wouldn't have to throw away after three months. I can wash this Neti pot, air dry it, and use it over and over. I'm very satisfied with this product. |
Beware putting in dishwasher:

I have no problem with the company that produces this product or with their use of bio-plastic. I feel that the price is fair and that you will be happy with the results of using it providing you keep it away from heat. From the manufacturer's website:
"Made from petroleum-free, nontoxic, natural bioplastic, our neti Wash Eco Neti Pot is good for you and good for the environment. The Neti Wash Eco Neti Pot is certified biodegradable and commercially compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute.
Not suitable for dishwasher or microwave."
I suspect that this will cause the neti pot to warp and lose shape at higher temperatures. I like to put my ceramic neti pot in the dishwasher to cleanse and sanitize between uses. I won't be able to do this with the bio-plastic version. I have opted not to buy, and just wanted to issue a broad caveat to others. Providing you hand wash and air dry, this should be a fine choice at a fair price for you. |
They think a lot of their cheap plastic

| Reviewer: L. Harrison, |
| They charged me $13.11 for this cheap piece of plastic, plus $5.11 to ship something that weighs almost nothing. The package says the plastic used to make this neti pot consumed 65% less energy than neti pots made with traditional petroleum-based plastic. Imagine the cost of a neti pot made from ordinary plastic! |
