Mood Regulation

Omega-3 fatty acids are a group of essential fatty acid nutrients derived from marine or plant sources. Based on preliminary research, Dr. Stoll's team hypothesized that Omega-3s had many of the same characteristics as effective mood stabilizers. In a double-blind study of 30 patients who were recently ill with bipolar disorder, Dr. Stoll found omega-3 fatty acids from concentrated fish oil to be an effective antidepressant and mood stabilizer. ~ Andrew L. Stoll, M.D.
If you don't eat fish on a consistent basis, you may be deficient in oils that support healthy skin, hair and joint flexibility. It seems the food we are eating today is not doing the job and we have to take supplements to maintain health, not to mention, "striving for longevity."
Unlike many antidepressants (Prozac, Zoloft, and lithium) this has good side effects. Instead of making you feel listless or even more depressed -this makes you feel amazingly good, energetic and basically improves your skin and hair. If you are bipolar there are some very good studies that indicate this might be what you need to rebalance you life.
Truthfully, this supplement has changed my life in a number of ways. I have more energy, my joints feel less stressed while working out and it has now been proven that we need to either consume a lot more salmon or take supplements.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids Support:
Normal Brain Functioning
Mood Regulation
Brain Function with Regard to Learning
Enhanced Energy Levels
Stress Relief
Prevents Heart Disease (although it is not recommended that you take this supplement if you are on blood thinning medications)
I also like the Omega 3 Mood High EPA Mood Balancing Formula from Country Life.

I initially bought this product for the benefits listed on the Amazon and Nordic websites, I needed a good source of Omega 3 and decided on the Nordic 3-6-9, it's an excellent and reputable brand. I had no idea how these supplements would help in the most unexpected way. For the past ten years or so I have suffered from headaches...most are sinus related, some are migranes, and some are from a neck injury. I relied on Imatrex, but that was breaking my bank account, not to mention what it was probably doing to my heart. Sinus pills did not work, neither did Tylenol 3, asprin, you name it. Unbelieveably, since I have been taking the Nordic 3-6-9, my headaches have all but vanished. I have no idea how or why they are helping, but that is all that has changed in my diet and can think of no other reason. I did a tiny bit of investigating and did read where fish oil pills can help migranes. If you suffer from them it's certainly worth a try!
No fishy taste or after-taste.

I've been using this product for over a year. Unlike other fish oils, it has never upset my stomach or made me burp fish - one, because it is ultra pure and two, because it is flavored with lemon oil. I credit this oil for my great skin.
Great Product...

I have tried several different brands of Omega 3's to supplement my diet and to specifically target my cholesterol. Since I have blood work done regularly (every 3 or 6 months) I can say that since the addition of this product I have seen a decrease in my bad cholesterol and a slight increase in the good. My doctor recommended I continue with this product. What I have noticed is that the casing is a lot less thick and rigid than with other Omega pill brands. The soft lemon flavor is not strong and it makes swallowing easier. Heat will cause the casing to break, so if you drink hot coffee to swallow your pills you run the risk of having the casing melt in your mouth if you keep it in long enough. I do not get the fish burps either. The smell even if the casing melts and the taste is not nearly as strong and revolting as other brands. I highly recommend it and will no longer use other brands.
Good purchase.

From day one I've deeply disliked anything seafood. To me, the smell and tastes are completely unpallatable. However - now that my husband and I recently found out we're expecting, supplying our new child with all the important nutrients is a higher concern than my aversion to fish. Important nutrients include Omega acids...and the best sources include fish oil. I've heard many tales of people burping up "fish" when taking fish oil - whether in pills or liquid forms. As I said earlier, I'm highly sensitive to any sensation of things "fishy" and so I've been very nervous about my selection of Omega acid pills. We bought these pills and I made my husband try them first. Though he'd burp up from time to time - he said it was always very "lemony". I've started taking them and find that though I also burp up a little, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO sensation of fish, but rather a pleasant, although strong, lemon flavor.
Now, I've read that Omega acids make for great skin, hair, mood - whatever. Other than really, really great dreams (can I attribute that to pregnancy?) I have found no real change...
I find nothing but postives for this product and highly recommend. |

If you don't eat fish on a consistent basis, you may be deficient in oils that support healthy skin, hair and joint flexibility, not to mention fat metabolism. My grandmother cooked a lot of salmon and her skin was always beautiful and she had a very positive outlook on life.
After I got married, I noticed that my skin was not as healthy as it had been in the past. The reason is strange, yet finally I realized what was happening. My husband hates eating fish and so he hated it when I would cook fish, even for myself. The smell of prawns and salmon makes him feel ill, so I have to cook fish when he is away. Since this is not that often, I finally decided I needed to think up a better solution. I still enjoy eating fish on occasion, especially when we eat out, but I've decided to take a fatty acid supplement.

Nordic Naturals
The Nordic Naturals Complete Omega really helped my mood and since it helps to eradicate depression and the symptoms of depression, you might find yourself sleeping better, eating healthier foods or even having enough energy to adopt a new kitten. In fact, they say that some people respond better to Omega 3 therapy than to antidepressants. If antidepressants make you worse, then give this a try after consulting with your doctor. Although, I have found some doctor's to be very skeptical about natural remedies, to our detriment.
Unlike many antidepressants (Prozac, Zoloft, and lithium) this has good side effects. Instead of making you feel listless, uninterested in sex or even more depressed - this makes you feel amazingly good, energetic and basically improves your skin and hair.

This is a great, natural way to improve the appearance of your hair and skin. I use it every day and my hair has grown so much faster and I don't have to use as many products to keep it tamed. Highly recommended!
Delightful. And lemony!

These are fish oil pills. I take 'em as an insurance policy, since I probably don't eat enough fish. They're apparently chock full of fatty acids. And the lemon flavor really hits you about an hour after ingestion, so time that accordingly.
Good product, but...

These contain soy. Which was not discovered before ordering them. I have used Nordic Naturals before, but recently was advised to not have soy. Going soy free is tough, it is in everything. I am sure these would be great if it was not for the soy. I just ordered from Kirland Labs, they have allergen free supplements of all kinds.
