| My optometrist introduced these to me several years ago. It took a while to find them back then, and I now need a new set (stronger) so I am purchasing from amazon.com. These lenses are absolutely incredible. Whenever I go to the beach, I always bring these along. Much easier than bringing reading glasses and sunglasses. The inserts work as well as reading glasses. |

| Amazing product, really works well! Just use the hottest water you can stand on your fingers to apply. It softens just enough then bonds well to the cleaned glasses. Amazing that it REALLY works. Try it, You will be happy too. The lenses are just a tad large so unless your glasses are very large (like mine are) you will have to trim along the top of the lenses. Cool product. |

| ...diving masks. As a videographer, using regular reading glasses to view the monitor on top of the elevated camera was a pain. I stuck a pair of these OPTX 20/20 stick-on bifocals(just wet them with water, place them, ready to go!) at the TOP of a pair of safety glasses, and it was easy to view both 'live' and monitor. I've had a pair on my sunglasses for at least five years. They're great! |

make your own prescription sunglasses

If you have Serengeti glass sunglasses with a larger flat lens they can be made into nice prescription sunglasses.
Suggest order a size stronger as the glass cuts down.
Make sure the sunglasses are big enough 34 or greater to accomodate lenses,
And be aware lenses do fall off...I am told, so have a spare.
Love them.
You are supposed to let set for 24 hours, so plan ahead.
They stick on via water seal and are removable.
They only thing I did not like was cutting through the size lable to open. You can carefully slice with think knife...maybe.
Don't work well with the lighter weight plastic curved lens on some Oakleys, or Nike Skylon.

cheap alternative to prescription sunglasses

| These press on bifocals are a great alternative to purchasing prescription sunglasses. If you primary problem is difficulty reading fine print, this is an economical alternative. These lenses can be removed easily and transferred to any other standard pair of sunglasses quite easily. They are durable and effective. They may require some tinkering to get them in the correct spots for proper reading, but are just as effective as any "standard" pair of bifocals. While I normally wear progressive style lenses (no line bifocals), these lenses are an effective alternative to expensive prescription progressive sunglasses. As someone who works in an eye practice, I give this product and wholehearty "thumbs up". |

| I've been using these for several years and only last fall got another few sets ... few sets? Yeah, I carry sunglasses in all the vehicles I drive and ride and hate looking for 'readers' when I need them. These are a quick, cheap, reliable fix. Stick them on and forget they're there until needed. They can be trimmed to fit just about anything by utilizing a good, sharp pair of scissors and a little care. They're a bit large for my needs as I like the 'line' well below my line of sight, especially when riding. I have a couple of helmets with the drop down sun shades which are fantastic items, only I found I couldn't read my instruments, gps, radar, etc. These little gems solved that problem beautifully and they have stayed in place for over a year. I can't be too enthusiastic recommending this product ... I love 'em. |

| Perfect for sunglasses when you need a bifocal for seeing close-up occasionally. Sticks well. For me when I bicycle I need to read my speedometer or fix a flat. I trimmed them to about half the size with a razor knife and shaped the bottom to the eyeglass frame. Take note that they should be placed on the bottom inside corner of the lens, not in the middle. Saved big $$ for not having to buy sport bifocals again. I wouldn't consider them for normal everyday reading use. |

Personally I have never had a problem putting them on any kind of lens, and they have never come off accidentally, even when washing the glasses. They are easy to remove, even years later, by soaking for a while, but they have never come off on their own. |

Well, been old for a while, but now there's proof based on my Amazon purchase history. But regardless of the march of time, this has proven to be a very handy product.
I use it with my current glasses (put them on a spare pair) for reading small print, such as newspapers and some magazines (which, for some reason, always seem to want to print things in 8 or 9 point type when it's clear that most of their readers are well over the age where they can read such small type. Then they wonder why circulation is falling.)
Sorry for going off on a tangent. Back to the stick on lenses. They work great. Had no problems putting them on my glasses. The pack did not come with directions, but directions were available on the manufacturer's web site. Basically, clean your glasses well with very warm water, then soften the stick on lenses with warm water, stick them on, push out any air bubbles, and let them dry. The lens have a curved side which is the side you want to affix to the glasses.
So far zero problems with them coming off. Clarity is excellent. They are noticeable on regular glasses - I expect they would not be noticeable (or hardly at all) if you used them with sunglasses.
Lot less expensive them progressive lens and, for me, work just as well. I can clearly read the newspaper again!
Highly recommend. |

| Until I purchased this product, I was stuck wearing two pairs of glasses: one for distance and one to read. I was unable to use the no line bifocals I had purchased, and thought I was stuck with two pairs of glasses. Then my doctor mentioned that he used these stick on bifocals, so I searched for them. Needless to say I am very impressed with their performance. If you plan on purchasing these, don't make the same mistake I did and think that the lenses go on the outside of your glasses. Duh! They adhere to the inside. Use really hot water to make them a bit more flexible. Mine have stayed adhered, even when I clean my glasses (I am very careful not to move them). A real money saver and worth every penny. |

| I purchased these for my sunglasses - now I can read while at the pool with grandkids - etc. They go on the inside of the glasses. Clean your glasses (I also wiped them with alcohol) then wet both the lenses and the stick on with really hot water and take a paper towel to get the extra water and work them a bit to get them exactly where you want them. Gently work out the bubbles and you should be good. I have applied these to 2 different pairs of sunglasses and neither have fallen off. One pair stays in my car and even in triple digit heat - they did not fall off. Good luck and enjoy. |

| Finally ordered these stick-on lenses for myself, and I am very happy with them! I spend a lot of time in my car, and I have gotten to the point where I can't easily read all the digital instruments on my dashboard, let alone the text screen on my XM radio or the street names on my navigation system. Now I can. It was easy to affix the lenses to the inside of the sunglasses I use for driving, although I did have to trim them down a bit with scissors and play with positioning a bit. But now I can easily read the whole instrument panel in my car through the magnifying lenses, and drive safely by watching the road through the top half of my sunglasses. They work great, and are much cheaper than buying prescription sunglasses. |

| I was looking for reading sunglasses for a vacation to Mexico. There seem to be the ~$15 dollar versions and the ~$150+ versions with very little in between. My sunglass of choice is the RayBan Aviator. These stick-on lenses let me keep my preferred style AND be able to read by the pool. They were easy to stick to the RayBan lens (which is glass and spherical), and I have had no problems with the stick-on detaching in two months of use, even in the humid Mexican summer or while splashing in the pool. The users who have had problems seem to be dealing with plastic lenses or high curvatures. For the money, these lenses do what they need to do. |

| This is a great product that I have used for years. I only need readers and being able to wear your favorite sun glasses and read on the beach or see the dash, and maps, clearly while you drive is great! The only drawback is that every once in a while they come loose and you might lose a lense. I have lost a few but the convenience and low cost far out weigh the occasional loss. They are easily trimmed to accomodate small lense sunglasses also. If you wear dark or mirrored sun glasses no one can even tell you have them. |
Good Bifocal/Reading Glasses Alternative

| Reviewer: 1Sunbum, Newport, RI |
First tried these after finding them at a big box retailer & found them to be effective & convenient especially when wearing sunglasses. Very happy to see them at Amazon at a fair (some places really overcharge for them) price after no longer finding them locally.
I'm fussy about eye protection & use a variety of sunglasses/eye protection all with plastic lenses. Had no problems getting these to adhere to any lenses, even curved ones. It helps to warm (in warm water) the stick on lens (and sunglass lens) to help it conform to the lens shape. The stick on lens has one surface that's curved outward; it helps to have that side contact the (inside of the) sunglass lens. I wet the sunglass lens & stick on lens & once it's pressed in position, blot it dry with a (good quality) paper towel. If there are any air bubbles or the stick on isn't where I want it, I repeat the process. They've never come loose; if I'm worried they might, I use a spritz of lens (not window) cleaner or contact lens wetting solution to attach it. They're soft enough to trim with a sharp hobby knife & seem fairly scratch resistant. My only criticisms: The power doesn't seem to equate to a separate reading glass; these are +2.00 but seem closer to a +1.75 reading glass, but for me that's a minor issue. |

| I like these magnifiers because they change my reading glasses in bifocals. I do a lot of close up work. I have had some for years and they stay on my glasses real well. I lost one because I was sticking my glasses directly in my shirt pocket, so I got a case for the glasses. One came off in the case, but I realized it dried out because I was not washing my glasses. Occasional washing helps keep them in place. Since these learned lessons, I have not lost another. I would like to have find stronger that +3.00. I did not give it 5 stars because of the price. |

| As a distance runner and cyclist, I use a number of sun glasses, some of them with interchangeable lenses. Unfortunately, I also need near sight vision correction. Buying prescription sunglasses in the quantity I need them would simply be cost prohibitive. These Stick-On-Bifocals are a perfect solution for this situation. I can use any sunglasses I want to and convert them easily in prescription sunglasses for a very low cost. I think it is a perfect solution. I would have given the product five stars. However, there are a few potential adhesion problems. With one pair of interchangeable lenses, I can't get the Stick-Ons to stick at all; they simply fall off every time I try. With another pair of lenses, the Stick-Ons stay in place but tend to gradually come off at the edges over time. No real problem, though, I just push them back in place with water while cleaning them. Overall, this is fantastic idea and very low cost solution for a problem I had for years. If you have a near vision correction need, this is the answer. Are there some potential adhesion issues? Yes, but for me the benefits outweigh by far the occasional issues. With this in mind, I can highly recommend this product. |

Not sure if they well hold up to travel and say bike riding and hiking throughout the summer. I'd hate to loose one lens. Also wish they were easier to take care of as in taking off when you don't want them and put them on when you do and store say in a thin case in your wallet for example. I wish they were thinner and I think I'd like them better if they were. They do work to some extent just not as well as I had hopes for. |

If you don't get a good seal... well, at worst they fall off of course, but at best you get the blurriness that others have noted. | I had gotten RK done about 15 years ago and my vision varied during the day. I tried to make a pair of non-prescription bifocals with these and reading glasses, since it was useless to get another prescription. They are a bit big for most reading glases, and do fall out with the glasses being handled. I tried super-gluing the lenses into the reading glasses, bad idea! the refraction index of the superglue makes them useless. So I got a cheap pair of progressive bifocals and it's a better solution for us post-RK folks. |

They did not stick on at all. Then I tried them with sunglasses with a flat lens. They had bubbles that I tried diligently to smooth out. No luck removing the bubbles. Also the stick-on lenses did stay on but never cleared; instead they remained cloudy. Then I tried softening them a bit by letting them sit in the recommended warm water for 10 minutes. The plastic lenses were/are permanently cloudy. I would return them but placed them on my table and now can't find them (they are small and hard to see). If I locate them, the plastic stick-ons are going back. Too bad! |

I inquired at my Vision Scource about obtaining a set of these through them, they told me my script would be +2, assured me that they'd perform fine for light reading, and then nailed me with the punchline, quoted me "$50.00" and, of course - "that was without any markup, sir"; yeah OK.
I came home and located them dog gone near everywhere on-line from betweeen $8 & $20; decided to cast a line in here, most times Amazon treats me like a human.
These seam fairly straight forward, drop of water, affix little lens, place glasses back on face... READ.
I can get all the way to that last step, that's where we hit FAILURE MODE and hence $13.00 tossed off for "WORTHLESS".
My recomendation?
If you need bi-focals - get bi-focals when you order your glasses. |
