Product Description

Part of any responsible weight loss or fitness program should involve picking out an accurate scale to monitor results. This model from Taylor guarantees precise weight readings and runs on a lithium battery--which is not likely to die or weaken during the lifetime of the scale. The scale’s attractive tempered-glass top mounts on an industrial-style chrome base, and measures 12-3/4 inches across, offering a spacious platform to stand on. The scale turns on with a quick step onto the glass platform. A large 1-inch LCD display makes it easy to see readings without bending down. Weight readings lock and display for 5 seconds before the unit shuts off to conserve battery power. The scale holds up to 300 pounds, and is covered by Taylor under a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Looks Great And Is Cheap!

Review Date: June 24, 2005
Reviewer: Martin A Hogan, San Francisco, CA. (Hercules)
I got this scale just for the "upscale" look. It's sleek metal with glass. They state that the lithium battery lasts a long time, so we'll see. It does take four rotations of the `zeros' to fly by before your weight is shown (to the half pound). It looks great and it's cheap. It's thick glass, so if your weight shows more than you expected, you can toss this sucker across the room and it won't break!

UPDATE: Almost five years and it is still working on the same battery!
Looks great and works great too

Reviewer: Vesselina Klonek,
I love the design of this scale, it seems to fit perfectly in my bathroom.

It's readout has been consistently accurate (no fluctuations of any kind).

I would recomend this unit to just about anyone.

It's been my favorite so far.
4 years and counting...

Review Date: December 26, 2008
Reviewer: Elizabeth A. Wullschlager,
I've had this scale for over 4 years. It has moved with me three times. It looks great, and the glass design makes your bathroom look bigger because you can see through to the floor. It is a fabulous scale and very consistent. I don't notice any of the problems listed in the negative reviews and plan to buy one for my parents. I have noticed that it takes 1-2 extra tries when it's cold (below 50 degrees). My battery still works great after 4 years, and I use the scale 3-4 times a day. I love this scale!!

I have no idea why some people rated this scale so low. This was rated by Consumer Reports as the best of the best on their latest report on scales. I will take their word over the low reviews because of their extensive testing. This is truly a great scale at a decent price.
It says what I want it to say!

I'm lovin' this scale. I've used one before while staying at someone else's home, and decided THIS is the scale for me! I have a hard time reading all the little tiny increments on the scale I have. This one seems to be consistent...and it'll never need a battery. Nice looking too!
So far, it's great!

I haven't had this scale long, but so far I really like it. I think the weight is fairly accurate. I put 2 weights on it that were 15 pounds each and the reading was 30.4. Not perfect, but close. I'm not even sure they are EXACTLY 15 pounds each. The best news for me is that my previous scale was measuring 4 pounds heavy so I feel like my diet is particularly effective this week! In addition to it's accuracy, I think it looks great too and I'm not having any problems with it being slow.
Consumer Reports seems right so far

Review Date: February 4, 2010
Reviewer: A.N. Other, San Francisco, CA USA
I've been using this scale for about two weeks, and so far it seems accurate and highly consistent in its readings. It has none of the wild swings in measurements of my previous scale and it tracks closely to values I get on a larger gym scale. It is easy to use, attractive, and produces readings quickly. For the metric-minded, it also has a switch that changes the display to kilograms. The scale is powered by a widely available lithium battery, and changing it should be fairly easy. My model has a slightly askew retention clip, so it takes a little fussing to seat the battery properly, but once it is inserted, the scale works well. The written instructions are okay, though not totally clear. However, the scale is easy to use, so they are not mission-critical. Note that this scale does not require calibration (taring) before every use, unlike many other scales on the market, which is especially convenient.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product. Based on some previous reviews, there may be problems with quality control in the production of this scale. I haven't encountered any thus far, and the low price makes this an especially attractive product.

Looks great and weighs accurately and consistently - five consecutive weighings all registered exactly the same weight. Recommended!! I don't know if it will last 100 years, but for under $30, it can't be beat.
Great Accurate Scale for the Price

Review Date: January 28, 2010
Reviewer: Zxert, Harrisburg, PA
It's a good looking, accurate and consistent scale at a great price.

I personally don't care if it's a pound or two off from some other scale - who knows if the others are correct? Just because a scale is in a doctor's office or a gym does not mean they are accurate. Actually with the consistent heavy use, they are probably not as accurate as the Taylor.

I would recommend this this scale. It's $30 - if you are really unhappy, throw it out and waste your money on something more expensive. Your pants not being tight is probably a better thing to keep an eye on than the scale anyway.
Very Satisfied

Always skeptical of made in China, but this looks to be a quality scale. It was rated well by Consumer Reports and does seem to be more accurate than what I've had. You cannot beat the shipping from Amazon - free and quick. I received this item much sooner than expected, and in good shape. No complaints.
Beautiful, accurate, and functional

Reviewer: Gary F. Harrell, El Dorado, AR USA
First of all, the photo on the web page does not do the scale justice. It's really a beautiful work of art in addition to being a great scale. A clear tempered glass surface covers four chrome covered strain gauge sensors as well as a large LCD display. After the scale has resolved your weight, the display will blink, then hold for a few seconds to allow you to get off and still read the display. Accuracy, measured against a known weight, was right on the button. As far as repeatability, I have weighed as many as five times in a row and gotten exactly the same reading each time. I noted several reviews reporting that the scale failed after two or three weeks, so I waited about three months to write this review. At this time I have had absolutely no problems and highly recommend the scale to anyone wanting a good, accurate, reliable, and attractive unit.

Reviewer: Canie Adams, Virginia
We were concerned after reading some of the previous reviews but took a chance on this unit anyway. So far we're very pleased. We compared the reading with our doctor's certified scales and found it to be within two tenths of a pound. Close enough for me! We've also found it to be extremely consistent with readings exactly the same on several consecutive weighings. The look is stylish and the display is easily readable. I was also a bit concerned about it requiring some proprietary battery but it uses a CR2032 readily available most anywhere.

This scale is very accurate and attractive. Since it is mostly clear glass, it almost disappears on your floor and doesn't add any clutter in a small bathroom. It does exactly what you expect, is very easy to read and it is the top recommended bathroom scale by Consumer Reports Magazine.

Nice to have a scale that has not guessing as to what the actual weight is. Dial scale is wishy washy and this digital is much more persice and no guessing as to what the weight is.

Reviewer: Optimist, Lexington, MA
These scales are terrific! Unlike my old scales, there is a quick, firm, easily viewed weight displayed--no possibility to get a hoped-for different result by moving around a bit. Granted, I weigh five pounds more on these scales than I did on the old ones! But the weight is more in line with the scales at my doctor's office, and that's a good thing. The sleek design is an added bonus.

We have tried and trashed several scales over the last 10 years including at least one other from this manufacturer. We have had this scale for about a month and we are very satisfied with it. It is very consistent and, comparing to the doctor's scale, very accurate. We highly recommend it. As a bonus it looks great and measures to the nearest 0.2 pound.

We bought two of these, needing closer monitoring of our weights.
We both tested numerous times, and only one time did we get 1/2 pound difference. The rest were .2 or .4 or the same readings. Feel this scale is quite accurate, especially for the price.

This scale is very accurate and the display is very large and easy to read, even for my 50 year old eyes. my last scale required you to tap it first and then step on. This one works when you step on, no tap required. And it reads the same number no matter how many times you step on or off.

The Taylor 7506 scale lives up to the Taylor product reputation of being the most cost effective in today's market. It arrived earlier than expected and was in use in fifteen minutes. The accuracy of scale readings is excellent compared to digital scales in my doctor's office for me and my spouse. I highly recommend this model to anyone looking for an accurate scale that is reasonable in price and will go with any interior.

I purchased this scale because it was written up so well in Consumer Reports. as nearly as I can tell, Consumer's was right. This scale weighs accurately, which is more than I can say for several scales I have owned.

I also appreciate the scale's clean good looks. It is easy to clean, glass will not rust. I am way over 200 pounds and it is plenty strong enough for me.

Delivery was the same flawless service I have come to expect from Amazon which puts it way ahead of most. In fact, Amazon was the easiest place to find it. Local merchants did not have any, even Wal Mart.Taylor 7506 Precision Tech Lithium-Battery Electronic Glass/Chrome Scale

I love my new sleek Taylor 7506 glass/chrome scale. It not only enhances my decor, but the accuracy is comparable to doctor office scales. A consumer review advertisement which I heard on the radio absolutely sold me on this particular scale, and the first place I looked was on Amazon.com. I had just recently used Amazon for the first time ever, before I purchased the scale. The ease and security of ordering and minimal shipping time were fantastic. Accolades to Taylor manufactuing and Amazon. I am well pleasaed.

I really love this weight scale. It seems to be pretty accurate, and it looks really nice too. Those white plastic scales look so out of date. I know, as I had one! This Taylor 7506 model seems to weigh to the 2/10ths of a pound. I weigh myself each day when I am on a diet and that 2/10ths of a pound keeps you motivated! My last one would only measure each pound, which is very discouraging! I highly recommend this Taylor 7506 model. I did a lot of research before I chose it. No problems here!

I love. More importantly, my wife loves it (she thinks it's "smart" looking).
I give it 5 stars. The only (minor) drawback is that it's LCD with no back-light, so you can't see it in the dark. But then, the battery will last longer. Lose one, win one.
Other than that, two thumbs up (four, counting my wife).

Read a lot of the comments about this scale, and was a bit worried about the negative ones. However this has been a great scale for me, worked with no issues out of the box and continues to do so; will have to see over the longer term. Consumers Reports got another one right. My one quibble would be that the edges could possibly have some protection from nicks/chips. Overall it works well. I still dont like the readings that I get, it does need a dial down button.
Excellent Value - Accurate scale with a low price.

Reviewer: A. Lawson, Florida
The Taylor 7506EXP scale is an accurate electronic strain gauge scale that produces consistent weight measurements.

I found this scale to be accurate and easy to use. The scale turns on when you tap it with your foot. It turns itself off after ten seconds of inactivity. The included lithium 3v CR2032 battery will last a long time.

The LCD panel displays the weight in 2/10 pound increments. The scale measures weight range between 35 lbs and 400 lbs (15 kg to 180 kg). You can change the display units to kilograms or pounds with a slide switch on the back of the scale.

This scale is an excellent quality scale with a low price.
